Rail zeppelin

The Rail Zeppelin was a famous German vehicle from the 1930's that set speed records at the time. It resembled a Zeppelin air ship and was propelled by.. a propellor. It did not pull any cars.

Profile.

Some building details. The bulbed windscreen is a hard to find piece from a 1970's helicopter. By lack of a genuine grey train door, the door is suggested by setting back a window half a stud inwards. The door knob sticks half a stud out the door.

This LEGO model has a motor to turn the fan, but the wind force is not sufficient to actually push the car. I even tried up to 6 x 4 blades on a single axle, but it didn't help because the profile of the blades are not properly formed to produce air lift.

Negotiating curves (again)
Actually the historical rail zeppelin only had two axles instead of four. Like in the Marklin model, a long body needs four axles to negotiate tight model train curves.
